2004 Ford Explorer /Mountaineer Instrument Panel Removal And Installation

Instrument Panel NOTE: If removing the instrument panel, follow steps 1 through 3. Otherwise proceed to step 4. 1. WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, notes and instructions in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) deactivation/reactivation procedure. Remove the driver and passenger air bag modules. For additional information, refer to Section 501-20B. 2. Remove the A-pillar trim panels and RH cowl side trim panel. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim Panels in this section. 3. NOTE: After removing the floor console, reconnect the battery to position the front seats back, then disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to Section 414-00. Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to Floor Console — Front in this section. 4. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. To remove individual components, only carry out the listed steps. 5. Illustration 1 of 4. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
